Parent Attributes/Tags Project

Project Description

This project was for an Adilas customer and consisted of creating a tag, or parent attributes, system that could be utilized within E-commerce. I constructed five different tag types. They were text, text drop-down, number, toggle, and number drop-down. Each type can present information in different ways and for different purposes. Each tag also has several options attached to it such as sort value, what categories it could be shown in, required, show on web, search on web, etc. Upon setting up tag categories they can then be attached to individual items and displayed in E-commerce for easy searchability.

What I Learned from this Project

This was my most challenging coding project yet as it was more complex than anything else I had previously done. Instead of set database fields, I worked with an unknown number of possible database entries. Displaying the tag information in E-commerce appropriately also posed a considerable challenge. Overall, it was a great job that increased my skills. My main take away from this project was learning more complex coding skills to handle the project’s challenges.
