Adilas E-mail Project

Project Description

This project had created advanced e-mailing functionality for AFB. This feature is provided with the AFB or Snow Owl theme. It contains over 80 settings used to customize the default e-mail template to the corporations specifications. It also contains 37 dynamic variables to customize messages sent out to customers. Each variable will populate a different set of code based off the customer profile and the different e-mail types. The e-mail project also provides storage space for five additional HTML templates. Each of these templates can be populated with a customized message by simply using a variable inside the HTML code. In addition, it contains 13 different e-mail types for various uses. These uses span from quotes, invoices, regular e-mails, to receivables.

What I Learned from this Project

This project began much smaller than it is now. It expanded as we were developing the tool. I have learned that if it is possible, it is always better to plan out the full functionality of a project in the beginning rather than expanding sporadically during the building process. With that being said, sometimes you can’t see deficits or problems until you are in the midst of the project. The most ideal way to run a project is to plan it out as best you can, and then to make necessary changes as needed.
